Iron Chef Challenge: Peanut Butter Cake with Peanut Butter Icing

Photobucket

WARNING: Recipe below will be loaded with calories.

LOTS of calories.

But I promise, for those of you that have a passion for peanut butter, it will fulfill your cravings like no other dessert.

Well, except for maybe a spoonful of PB right out of the jar!!

Just look at that slice of heaven!

The ingredient for this Iron Chef Challenge was Clabber Girl Baking Powder.
Easy for me - I love to bake.
The hard part - which dessert to choose. So many choices!

Bring peanut butter, butter and water to a boil. For the cake, I used creamy peanut butter.

While your wet ingredients are boiling, sift your dry ingredients into a separate bowl.

PB, butter and water mixed well and ready to come to a boil.

Once your pb, butter and water mixture have been brought to a boil and mixed well, pour into the dry ingredients and stir well. Add the remaining wet ingredients of buttermilk, beaten eggs and vanilla. Stir well. Pour into a greased 9 X 13 pan and bake for 30 to 45 minutes - depending on the heat of your oven.

While the peanut butter cake is cooling, start on your icing.

Sorry, no pictures of the icing preparation.

My desire need, longing for PB cake was getting the best of me.

(I was starting to salivate like one of Pavlov's dogs!)

Yummy - iced cake. Notice the peanuts.

I used crunchy peanut butter for the icing to add extra texture.

Heaven.

Peanut Butter Bliss at it's best.

The only thing that could make this better is to drizzle warm chocolate on top!
