Date Night: Flourless Chocolate Cake & Chasing Cows

The kids are at grandma's house, so the hubs and I decided to enjoy the evening to ourselves. A quick trip to Sam's Club and home for a movie - without any interruptions.

Yeah right!

The phone rings at 9:12 p.m., "You have cows out".

The fight or flight syndrome kicks in instantly. Shoes on, grab a coat, lock the door and bolt for the truck.

Race down the road, headlights pointing towards the fields.

Where are they at? Where are they at? (All the while praying, please let it be the neighbors cows!)

IT WAS THE NEIGHBORS COWS.  Whew!

So, we returned home to enjoy the cooled Flourless Chocolate Cake and finish our movie.

I have heard people talk about making a flourless cake but never actually tried it.....until this past weekend.

With many individuals now suffering from food allergies and needing a gluten free diet, this is a great recipe!

I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. No flour, really?

How in the world was this thing going to have any substance? Oh wait - it does have chocolate in it. And eggs and butter.

Trust me. It had plenty of substance and sweetness to it.

The first time I fixed it, my crew loved it. In fact, it was plate-licking-good!

Gotta love this face - powdered sugar, ornery grin and all!!

Last night, So and I ate it in silence.

I also recommend having plenty of powdered sugar, whip cream and even some grated chocolate on hand for additional toppings.
